Bar Red Flags

BAR RED FLAGS

1. SCOOPING ICE WITH GLASS

Scooping ice with glass is a sure fire way to get glass chips in your ice and harm for guests. Ice should only ever be being touched with a plastic or metal ice scoop.

2. PRE OPEENED CANS

Must bars will pre open alcohol served in bottles to meet their licensing laws, but they're no reasons to open a can of Fanta, it just means it's probably been open too long and the bar tenders hands have touched something your about to put in your mouth.

3. BAD PINTS

No ones gonna pour the prefect pint every time but if every pint has too much or no head there is something going on with the kegs, the staff or most worryingly, the beer lines.

4. FRUIT FLYS

Fruit fly's are kinda inevitable but if their in abundance then there is definitely some issues with cleanliness.

5. ALL THE GUESTS ARE BLACK OUT DRUNK

When alcohol is involved someones always gonna be drunk but if the majority of the bar is and are continuing to be severed, the staff are ignoring their licensing training.

6. CAN'T MAKE THE CLASSICS

Everywhere has their own unique cocktails and specialities but everywhere selling cocktails should be able to make a French martini or a cosmo.

7. IF AN EMPLOY TELLS YOU NOT GO THERE

If a friend works at place and tells you to actively avoid it, there is usually a bit fundamental issue with the hygiene, atmosphere or the morals of the company.

8. HIGH STAFF TURN OVER

If the oldest member of staff has only been there 2 months the venue obviously has an issue keeping staff, this is very rarely an issue with the staff they're hiring and usually a issue with bad management overworking staff and making them feel unhappy at work.

9. UNDERAGERS PRESENT

If you look around and the average age is 16 them the bouncers or staff aren't ID'ing properly. Not only extremely illegal, it also makes me wonder what else they're letting slid.

10. THE STAFF ARE MEAN TO YOU

You should never feel uncomfortable or unwanted in a establishment. If you feel like the staff don't want you there, stop giving them your money.
